Gujrat to Kharian for food: a family day out

Gujrat is the district headquarters, and Kharian is one of its busiest towns. Gujrat to Kharian: the route

Both Gujrat and Kharian are on the GT Road (N-5). Heading from Gujrat towards Kharian, you pass through Lalamusa along the way. Lalamusa is about 22 km from Gujrat and about 16 km from Kharian, so the whole trip is roughly 35 to 40 km by road, depending on where in Gujrat you start.

Stay on the GT Road into Kharian. Jerry's is inside Mall of Kharian, GT Road, Kharian 50090, so there is no need to leave the main road. Searching "Jerry's Fast Food Kharian" in your maps app is the easiest way to get exact directions.

Why go to Kharian for food?

Gujrat has plenty of food of its own, so why drive? Partly for the change of scene, partly because a trip to a mall where you can shop and eat in one place makes an easy family outing, and partly for things you may not find on every corner, like lavashak with imli sauce. It also makes a good excuse to visit relatives in Kharian or Lalamusa on the same day.

When to plan the trip

We are open every day from 1 pm to 11:30 pm.

Weekend lunch: set off around midday and arrive as we open.
Late afternoon: shop at the mall, eat, and drive home in the evening.
Dinner run: come for a meal and a shake. If you are driving home late, a cappuccino helps.

Why lavashak is worth the trip

Lavashak is a Persian fruit leather, traditionally made by cooking down fruits like sour plum, apricot, pomegranate or barberry and drying thin sheets in the sun. In Pakistan it has caught on as a tangy snack served with tamarind sauce. At Jerry's we serve it with imli sauce, in small and large sizes, with extra imli sauce available.
